Fluidized beds are in the bottom of silos, ships, barges, railcars and trailers. The common term for this is “live bottom” as it allows the air to permeate the bulk powder material and causes it to act as a fluid. Once fluidized the vessel can be efficiently and cheaply emptied.
Air gravity conveyors are some of the most efficient manners of conveying these bulk powders as it only requires a small amount of air and a slight incline to convey material for hundreds of feet. These systems do not have all the moving parts of a conveyor belt which makes them less expensive to operate.
Air-slide materials work well in high temperature applications as well. We offer both woven and nonwoven medias that can withstand temperatures up to 500° F continuous and 600° F peak.

All our woven materials are precision woven using a special weaving technique that provides a smooth surface, even air permeability, a strong self-cleaning effect and no pressure loss during lifetime. The constant air permeability which is provided by this custom weave is ideal for mixing and fluidizing and ensures permanent material flow without interruption which allows complete discharge without residue.

Needled Polyester Polyveyor is specifically designed to be the ideal membrane for fluidized bed and air gravity conveyors. Its needled construction provides uniform and consistent air flow across the entire surface of the fabric. The material is finished to a smooth uniform thickness to provide consistent airflow.
Polyveyor will not unravel or perforate so heat sealing is not required on cut edges. The needling process also eliminates the need to stretch the fabric during installation. It also creates fine pores throughout the fabric that are so fine they keep product from sifting down to the air chamber.
